This evening is perfect weather, and everybody is taking a walk, and it makes me think of an Italian passeggiata, and so I’ve decided (I’ll come to my senses and/or forget about this by tomorrow) that when I retire from software I’ll open a combination espresso bar / nut-free gelateria up near the new bookstore.
We’re surviving this Fimbulwinter fairly well so far. I walked to the grocery store yesterday to stock up on supplies; Meghan shoveled the driveway; our new heat pump is a little slower than the furnace to warm the house when it first turns on, but it gets there.
Took an hour-and-a-half walk yesterday past the quarantine/recovery structures they’re building on the soccer fields, and an hour walk today past the kids’ next-year schools.
Walked from the UW Seattle campus, along the south side of the Montlake Cut and the east side of Lake Union, to REI: 6½ miles, 2¼ hours.
On Sunday I took a two-hour or so walk around Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace.
